The Recruitment and Retention Officer performs intermediate technical and administrative work coordinating and developing innovative and current approaches to the recruitment and retention of fire and EMS personnel; does related work as required. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Fire Chief.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, three (3) years of experience in the recruitment of fire and rescue personnel, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Ability to obtain a minimum of twelve (12) hours of training per calendar year in the field of fire and rescue recruitment and retention.
The annual starting pay for this FLSA non-exempt position is $38,007.09 - 43,708.15, commensurate with qualifications, experience, and internal equity. The County offers an excellent benefits package, including Virginia Retirement System, health and dental insurance, vacation and sick leave, and holidays.
