Provides professional support for Shenandoah County’s Human Resources department, including recruitment and staffing, maintaining records and files, reporting, employee relations, performance management support, training, policy and procedure implementation and interpretation, and compliance with State and Federal laws. Performs related duties as assigned. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Director of Human Resources.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree with coursework in human resources, public administration, or related field and some experience in local or state government; experience in human resources or benefits management is preferred. Any combination of experience and education may substitute for the more specific criteria listed above.
SHRM-CP or PSHRA-CP preferred but not required.
This position is classified as FLSA Exempt with a starting annual salary range of $50,933.13 - $58,573.10, dependent on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. The County offers an excellent benefits package, including Virginia Retirement System, health and dental insurance, vacation and sick leave, and holidays. The successful candidate must pass a pre-employment, post-offer drug screening and background check.
